Terms of Service

Effective: April 7, 2026

Article 1 (Purpose)

These terms and conditions aim to define the conditions and procedures of use, as well as the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between users and Towner (the "Service") for the mobile application and related services provided by the Service.

Article 2 (Description of Service)

The Service provides the following features:

  • Location-based foreigner community (same country + same language)
  • Writing posts, comments, and likes
  • Channel subscription and exploration
  • 1:1 direct messages
  • Push notifications

Article 3 (Registration and Withdrawal)

  1. Registration is processed through Google or Apple OAuth authentication.
  2. Users are assigned to a community based on location verification.
  3. Users may withdraw at any time through the profile menu in the app.
  4. Upon withdrawal, account information is immediately deleted, and posts/comments are anonymized and retained.

Article 4 (User Obligations)

Users shall not engage in the following activities:

  • Collecting, storing, or disclosing personal information of others
  • Profanity, defamation, hate speech, or discriminatory remarks
  • Posting obscene or violent content
  • Spam, advertising, or flooding
  • Spreading false information
  • Interfering with the normal operation of the Service
  • Impersonating or fraudulently using another user's account
  • Violating applicable laws and regulations

Article 5 (Content Management)

  1. Copyright of posts, comments, and messages belongs to the respective users.
  2. The Service may delete or restrict access to content that violates Article 4 without prior notice.
  3. Users may report other users' content or behavior, and the Service will review reports and take appropriate action.

Article 6 (Reporting and Blocking)

  1. Users may report inappropriate posts, comments, or users.
  2. Users may block specific users, and blocked users' content will not be displayed.
  3. The Service may restrict usage for users who receive repeated reports.

Article 7 (Service Changes and Suspension)

  1. The Service may change or suspend all or part of the service as needed for operational or technical reasons.
  2. Reasonable notice will be given before any service changes or suspension.

Article 8 (Disclaimer)

  1. The Service does not intervene in or bear responsibility for disputes between users.
  2. The Service does not guarantee the accuracy or reliability of user-posted content.
  3. The Service is not liable for service interruptions due to force majeure such as natural disasters or server failures.

Article 9 (Amendment of Terms)

  1. The Service may amend these terms as necessary, with notice given 7 days prior to the effective date.
  2. Users who do not agree with the amended terms may terminate their agreement by withdrawing their account.

Supplementary Provisions
